Soles 4 Souls!

Dear Junebug,

Mommy works with an incredible artist and humanitarian, Michael Franti. He is very focused on bringing awareness and help to those suffering in poverty. There are millions and millions of poor people who are so poor they don't even have shoes to wear. This concept is so foreign to you, I'm sure, as beautiful shoes are overflowing out of your closet. Michael is so committed to this cause that he chooses to not wear shoes! Everyday for 10 years he has walked around barefoot and as a result so many people have learned about this situation. He supports a great organization called Soles 4 Souls that distributes shoes all over the world to those in need. Our family was very inspired this Christmas by this story so we took up a collection. We collected 22 pairs of shoes! I hope someday you will grow up to be a humanitarian like Michael and that you will inspire others to give and live with hope and possibility.
